Bullying
Many young people keep quiet about bullying, partly because they fear what the bullies will do to them if they tell, but also because experience has taught them that adults are often not interested or, when they are, may make matters worse.
Young people know that bullying is not easy to stop and may well be wary of approaching an adult. Most importantly, adults should not trivialise the problem or be patronising in their attitude towards the young person. A serious request for help deserves a considered response.
Young people need to be given the option of choosing from a range of strategies to deal with bullying as there is not a one-for-all solution to this situation. I work with the young person to help them find their own pathway to an acceptable resolution, and improved self-confidence.
Bullying in the Workplace
Bullying doesn't just affect young people as bullying in the workplace is also prevalent, and can contribute to mental health issues, marital breakdown and total loss of confidence.
